The Urban Waterside group of companies is a privately owned property development and project management concern. The company was formed in 1981 and its name originates from its role as principle developers for the first phase of Manchester Docks.

The area had considerable difficulties in terms of major pollution and environmental problems; no services, no up-front Government Grants, no tenancies and without the assistance of a Development Corporation. This development was one of the largest regeneration projects in its day and became known as Salford Quays. This area is now nearing maturity as an established business district in the Greater Manchester area.

The company continues to develop in line with Government policy and the recommendations of the Urban Task Force to renew and regenerate the urban fabric of our major metropolitan centres.

We are working closely with a range of public and private sector partners to promote sustainable development in office, industrial and mixed use projects particularly in the North West and West Midlands .
